what is dude night?

DUDE Night is a planned monthly program for middle school boys in grades 5 through 8. Each 90-minute gathering will bring boys together for food, activities, mentorship, and honest conversations about confidence, mental strength, emotions, pressure, friendships, and growing into a strong young man.It is not another classroom lesson.

It is a place where boys can have fun, build real connections, and develop practical skills they can use in everyday life.

what a dude night looks like

Each DUDE Night will combine food, activities, honest conversation, and practical takeaways. The goal is to keep boys engaged while giving them space to connect, open up, and work through real challenges together.

1

Welcome and Food

Boys arrive, eat, settle in, and connect with the group.

2

Interactive Activity

A game, challenge, or team activity introduces the session topic.

3

Real Conversation

The group works through a practical lesson about confidence, emotions, pressure, friendships, or mental strength.

4

Brotherhood Challenge

Boys work together, encourage one another, and practice what they learned.

5

Take-Home Challenge

Each boy leaves with one practical action to work on before the next session.

Each month will focus on a different topic, but the overall structure will stay consistent so boys know what to expect.

Boys Need More Places to Feel Supported

Middle school can be a difficult stage for boys. They are dealing with pressure, changing friendships, stronger emotions, expectations, and questions about who they are becoming.

Many boys need more opportunities to talk honestly, build healthy relationships, and learn practical ways to handle challenges. DUDE Night is being created to give them a consistent place to do that outside of school.

Every boy deserves a place where he can belong, be challenged, and become stronger.

why i started the dude project

| TEDx Speaker | 2M+ Combined Social Media Views |
| Helping Schools & Communities Reach Boys |

I’m Kyle Mitchell, founder of The DUDE Project.
After struggling with social anxiety for over a decade, I made it my mission to help boys build confidence, resilience, emotional strength, and self-leadership in a way they can actually connect with.

The DUDE Project exists because too many boys are carrying things they don’t know how to talk about. They may shut down, act out, joke it off, or try to handle it alone.

Through school programs, live events, leadership groups, curriculum, and staff support, The DUDE Project gives boys practical tools, memorable experiences, and a clear code to grow into. Boys aren’t broken. They just haven’t always been given the right tools.
The DUDE Project was built to change that.
